Travel to France and earn 2 elective credits towards your North Central degree!
France herself will be your textbook as we explore the role of French history from Gallo-Roman  to the Fifth Republic. Explore architectural marvels and learn how people lived then and today. We will visit ancient Roman ruins, Renaissance chateaux and the Paris of then and now. 
Taught by: Dr. Norval Bard, French, NCC & Dr. Sally Fowler, Philosophy, NCC
  • We will start in the south at AVIGNON where we will spend 4 nights and 3 days exploring the Gallo-Roman [Learn what Julius Caesar wanted from the Gauls] and Medieval periods of French History.
  • We next travel to TOURS for 4 nights and 3 days  in the heart of the Loire Valley where we will visit several famous Renaissance Chateaux[Find out what it was like to live in a Renaissance Castle!] as well as the city of Angers.
  • Finally PARIS and Versailles. For 6 nights and 5 days we will continue our exploration of French History from Roman to the 20th century. [Relive the revolution! Walk the route of the 1210 city wall!]
Program Fee: $1,350 plus tuition, airfare and personal expenses: The program fee will include all transportation inside France, all hotels, some breakfasts , all site admissions as well as several special tours and lecturers. [Modest rail supplement for those over 24 years of age].
